I loved the illustrations of the NYC sights having seen them myself, and it had a wonderful moral to teach children about the joy that comes from helping others throughout the holiday season. When Santa Was a Baby by Linda Bailey | Penguin Random House Canada

Baby Santa and the elves fly to New York City and help the Bond family participate in a variety of service activities. I read this story with my two-year-old daughter. I think that all too often many of us forget about those less fortunate during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. I appreciate that this children's book seeks to remind children that the holidays are about so much more than gifts.

The only thing I really didn't care for in this book was the rhyming. In my opinion it seemed very forced at times, but my child enjoyed the story and that's what really matters! I love children's books told in rhyme.

Baby Santa takes a family on a Christmas trip - but their adventure is surprisingly selfless. The family visits a soup kitchen, sings Christmas Carols to the elderly, brings holiday cheer to an animal shelter, and has fun along the way.

A magical story with a touching message about the real reason for the season. Every child should read this book. I think it would be amazing accompanied with some actual holiday volun Disclaimer : I received a free digital ARC via NetGalley for reviewing purposes.
